For the more adventurous runners, Eugene’s Dirty Dash run is a bit more hard core.

This mud run is an obstacle course in bootcamp style. Contestants “trudge up mountains of sludge, overcome uncompromising obstacles, wallow in pits of mud” and have fun, according to the Dirty Dash organization.

The Dirty Dash is a national for-profit event run throughout the year in several U.S. cities. The sponsors donate a portion of the proceeds in each city to a local charity.

Entrants must pay a $50 fee for the June 28 event. For more information, see thedirtydash.com/race/oregon.
