Local venues offer Valentine’s entertainment

Douglas County Father Daughter Dance

The annual Father Daughter Dance is going to be held Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $8 in advance and can be purchased at Macy’s, Good Vibrations, Waterscape Spa and Pool, and Napa Auto Parts in Winston and Roseburg.

Tickets will also be sold at the door for $10. All ages are welcome and children 20 months and younger can get in for free. The dance will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in the Exhibit Building. For more information please contact Suzy McAmis at (541) 672-0230.

Parkview Skating Rink

On Feb.14, Parkview Skating Rink, located at 1151 NW Stewart Parkway, will be open from 7–9 p.m. The skating rink is open to all ages. They have a snack bar with soda, hot dogs, nachos, etc. There is also a mini arcade that is available.

The rink also does races, slow skates, and other games and events throughout the night. 

Admission is $5, quad skates cost $1 for rentals, and inline skates cost $2.50 for rentals. For more information call (541) 957-5283

Sandy’s Steakhouse

The staff at Sandy’s will be offering a full course meal for couples for $34.95. The dinner is a bacon wrapped steak filet paired with jumbo BBQ shrimp and a salad, potato and a veggie side dish. Couples are also being treated to a dessert to share with their significant other. Sandy’s is asking that everyone who plans to attend makes reservations ahead of time because they are having the local Roseburg band The Max play. The Max is a foursome band that plays lite pop and rock music.

Dinner is available before or during the show. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes until 9:30 p.m. Sandy’s is an all ages restaurant until 8 o’clock. After 8 p.m. minors have to sit in a different section of the restaurant.

Brix Grill and Chill

Brix is offering a chocolate martini bar and is hosting specialty wines for the night in their restaurant section, which hosts all ages.

Brix bar (21 and over) is celebrating both sides of Valentine’s Day, not only the love but the heart break as well. There will be a 10 p.m. house toast for those who have been burned by love. On their Facebook page they are calling it “Love Stinks, Let’s Drink!” There will also be a house round of whiskey fireball for those 21 and over.

O’Toole’s Pub

On Valentine’s Day stop in at O’Toole’s Pub for some dinner

They are offering two dinner specials.

Cajun prime rib and a lobster tail with roasted garlic potatoes. For desert they will be serving crème brulee. The Cajun prime rib dinner will be $70 for two. 

The second dinner option is blackened chicken with roasted garlic potatoes and will also have a crème brulee desert. This dinner option will be $50 for two.

The pub is also offering a chuck with porter and raspberry beer specialty drink. 

O’Toole’s pub is asking that customers make reservations for their 5, 7 or 9 p.m. dinner times.

Splitz Bar and Grill

Dinner and show!! Famous country singer James Otto is playing with an opening act of Aces Wild on Feb. 14.

Tickets are being sold individually and by the table. Individual tickets for dinner and the show are $35 ($15 for dinner and $20 for the show) if you only want to attend the show it is only $20 but since they are selling seating by the table they can’t guarantee that there will be seats left, so it may be standing room only. Pricing for tables are $190 and tables seat four people.

A three course tri-tip mean is being served at 6:30 p.m. Aces Wild will begin the nights entertainment off at 7:30 p.m.
