Faculty art show final days in Whipple Gallery


Greg Price’s sculpture, “Stuck between a log and a hard place,” took over 200 plus hours of physical labor to complete. Price has variety of personal symbolism in his work. His project is dedicated to the new part time faculty union.

Renee Couture’s postcard series is her depiction of the “relationship between capitalism, the environment and one’s community.” Copies of the postcards are available for purchase. Couture has another piece in the gallery.

The “works x five” art show is in its final days on display in Whipple Fine Arts gallery.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is no charge to view the gallery.

The gallery features the artistry of faculty members Renee Couture, Ted Isto, Stephanie LaFleur, Greg Price and Susan Rochester.

Guests can expect to see conceptual art, abstract work, mixed media, political art and even a touch of humor.

The final day for viewing the art gallery will be Feb. 6.

Stephenie LaFleur looks to “spark a dialogue amoung strangers regarding a variety of social issues” with her art entitled “T-shirt.” Each small t-shirt contained images of social issue. She also notes t-shirts are one on the most discarded items in the USA and the most wanted items in third world countries.
